Well lets start off with something easy... like the definition of kinematics. Kinematics is the study of motion in objects and all moving things.
Now onto the less easy thing, kinematics in the real world. Lets start with my first choice, and one of many that was a prime example of kinematics at its best.

This article explained the importance of physics in the Police Crash Reconstruction Team to be able to understand what occurred at the crash, and who should get the punishment. They can use Newton's Laws of Motion to recreate skid marks, to find the direction the vehicle was moving, and the speed of the vehicle. Officers can also use the material of the ground to help ongoing investigations. Physics in a Crash Reconstruction Team is like a fire hydrant to a dog. You need both to do something good in the world.

This commercial is a great example of friction. The man while trying to impress the girl with his great parkour skills, uses friction to scale down the building and up. This style of free running requires him to use the friction from his sneakers to stop from falling off the walls. He also uses each wall to have less force than falling straight from the roof to the ground below.

Now for the last example, and my favourite example. The Nike+ Hyperdunk shoes use physics to record and track athletes progress in many sports. This device can show you your progress on your every day iPhone. A dad wanted to put this to the test by using the jump height feature of this item. He used the equation:
After being able to calculate his jumps, he tried to cheat the system. He moved his legs to try and jump a bit higher, and he used his arms to change the center of his body. These attempts didn't work that well and he concluded that the device records hang time and not actual height. This device still uses kinematics to find and record many skills that are needed for sports.
